Today I had attended, my option class, Art and have been attending this class for a few weeks. Our first task, was to draw some patterns and things about yourself , with a portrait of you, a family member or even someone you admire.
Most of the time I have been drawing. I was first given a white piece of paper drawing everything related to what I like and admire. Once I had finished that task, I had transferred all of that on to a black board that I have now finally started carving out, just today.
On my board I had put a cross on the top, to represents Jesus Christ and how important he is to me. Around the cross and near the bottom of my artwork, I have some Polynesian patterns. These patterns represent my culture. The Samoan flag is also located in my art work, which again represents my culture. I also wrote down some words about God, my family and life. The person I drew, was myself, but I had sketched a photo of me, from not now, but when I was little.
From this I had learnt about negative and positive areas. Areas that you have coloured white are negative and black parts being the positive areas. The negative areas are the areas I am carving out and the positive areas are the parts that don't get carved out. The challenge with this task, is that I have to make sure that I balance the colours evenly and don't to much of this and not enough of that. But, Yes, I enjoy this class a lot.

Zimbabwe: Child Labour Reflection
But even though things look really bad for the kids in this country, there are organisations that are trying to prevent child labour and try and get people to donate money to them, to help these kids survive. These are two organisations, that are trying to prevent child labour, UNICEF and World Vision.
After finding out so much about Zimbabwe, I have realised how lucky I am and am very thankful for everything I have in my life. I might not have the best things in the world, but I have a school education, have a family and just, a chance, something that isn't just given to many children in Child Labour.

The Darker Side of Chocolate
Today in Social Studies we were shown a video called, The Darker Side of Chocolate. After watching this video I had realized, in Ghana, child labour is a big problem. I had found out that very young children, even younger than 10 years old had been working on Cocoa Bean farms 7 hours a day, some even longer. Some children were even forced by there parents to work because they didn't get enough money. This video had showed me that while people like me are enjoying all the chocolate they could eat, there are children in Ghana who are working and making the product,7 hours a day and these children haven't even tasted the chocolate. But still, even though these children work very hard, they still don't have enough money to even feed the family.
So an organisation, Fair trade, decided to sell the chocolate that some of these people in Ghana make, paying them good money and helping them out,UNLESS the children are free and not working. So I recommend that people start buying chocolates that have the Fair Trade logo, because all that money goes to help people struggling in Ghana.

Social Studies: Why I Chose this Country, Zimbabwe
In Social Studies we have been learning about child labour and how bad and common child labour is in a lot of countries. So today my Social Studies teacher has given us the choice to pick a country. My group decided to choose Zimbabwe because we realised how bad child labour is in this country and it seems interesting so we just want to look into it.
Atoms and Electrons
Atoms are the smallest particles of a chemical element that can exist having parts called the nucleus and outer shells or orbit. The nucleus contains neutrons which have no charge and are neutral and protons a positive charge. On the outer shells, there are electrons, which produce a negative charge. These electrons can be gained, lost or shared, depending on how many are left on the last shell.

The Four Walls Of Self
This is a video I had made using the software, Powtoon. This video shows the four walls of self and how everyday activities can affect our well being.

The Cell
Cells are the building blocks of life. In these cells there is a thin transparent sheet controls what goes in, and what goes out, this is called the cell membrane. In the middle of everything there is a dark circular spot which is called the nucleus, the nucleus contains the genes and control centre of the cell. The cell also has the watery jelly like substance which has the nutrients and chemicals. The cytoplasm also holds all the cell organelles together. The cell also has mitochondria, which is the part which performs respiration and gives energy to the cell. The cell also has chloroplast and a cell wall, but they are only found in plant cells. The chloroplast makes sugar for the plant and the cell wall protects the plant from getting infections.

Outcomes Attributes and Features
In my ICT class we have been spending most of our time on this software,'Scratch'. We are using this software to create games which could help with sustainability in the Tamaki Community. This is a drawing that shows the games I had found on scratch and the outcome and features.
Photosynthesis
What is Photosynthesis?
Photosynthesis is a process in which carbon dioxide and water are used by plants to produce carbohydrate and oxygen in the presence of sunlight.
What are the substances required?
For this process to work, the plant use the sunlight, water and carbon dioxide. The plants make their own food, which is this type of sugar called glucose. The plants use carbon dioxide, water, sunlight, glucose and oxygen in this process.

Living and Non-Living
Non-Living
Non-living things are things that are not alive, dead, but not all of them were always dead. Things like sand and glass were never living, but things like paper were once part of a living tree. Even though they are dead and not living anymore, they can perform living characteristics. Eg. A living animal can move, while a non-living car can do the same. But the differences between these two is that an animal can perform all seven characteristics while a car can not.
Living
Living things are alive. They show all the seven characteristics of Living things. Non living things can show one or two of the seven characteristics but they can not show all seven characteristics like all living things. Living things perform movement, respiration, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excretion and nutrients.

Context Brainstorm
This is a brainstorm about 'Sustainability' that I had done in my Digitech class. It shows the meaning of the word, and, where and how sustainability can be displayed.

My E Portfolios, My Blog and the Yr 10 Digitech Google+ Community
My E Portfolio is going to be used to visually showcase the work I will be doing in Technology this year. My blog will be used to reflect on my learning in Technology. The Year 10 Digitech Google+ Community, will be used to collaborate with other students about the work that we complete in Digitech.
We will be developing a game relating 'Sustainability'. We have been trailing a game to learn new skills in Scratch.
